Communitiy Garden Friesenstraße
From the outset, the concept for the community garden for the 220 newly built apartments in Berlin's Bergmannkiez neighborhood focused on community and ecology. In numerous participation formats, we worked with the future residents to develop a consensual park concept that offers plenty of space for a wide variety of uses for all age groups and at the same time opens up opportunities for continuous further development of the areas. As fences to separate individual plots were not permitted, it was possible to create a spacious park design.
A campfire site, a tree house with a climbing facility, a sand play area, a construction trailer as a youth meeting place, a water play area, a boules area and extensive lawns make the community garden a lively meeting place in the neighborhood. On sunny weekends, it is transformed into an ecological urban idyll where numerous festivals take place and children and adults alike enjoy themselves.
